FAQ - SUMMER CAMP (6/29-7/31)

There are several things that could be happening. Find your problem in the list below to troubleshoot it.

  • Internal Meeting: use the sign-in you entered when you downloaded the Zoom app, once you have entered the correct credentials you should be taken to the meeting you registered for.
  • 1,000 capacity: in the past we have seen a 60-70% show-up rate during webinars. If you see this message it means we have exceeded a 97% show-up rate.(unheard of! 😲) If you get this message, please take a screenshot and email support (with attached picture) at support@arree.com so they can make things right.
  • Check your dates and times. This is the most frequently reported login issue. Verify you're converting your time correctly using a simple time zone converter. All of our class times are posted in Pacific Standard Time. Also, check the schedule. For example: Vanessa's class only runs from July 6th to July 10th. If you try to log in any other week, your link won't work.
  • Internet: If you have internet issues, you may have a hard time staying in the class. You may also experience lagging. Try turning your video off, as this takes up a lot of bandwidth. You can also try to reboot your wifi and/or computer.
  • Password Required: The password is embedded in the registration link you receive from zoom after you register.
  • For all other login issues: check Zoom's support page.

Firstly, there is no guarantee your child will be called on. With 1,000 kids in each class, the probability is low and it should not be an expectation. Please do not use being selected for anything as a motivation for you child.

There are several things that we look for when calling on students.

  • Cameras on. If we can't see your child, they won't be called on.
  • Engaged students. We scroll through the meeting and watch for kids who are actively participating in the lesson and paying attention to the teacher.
  • Respectful behavior. Siblings who get along, no picking noses, dressed, parents who aren't distracting their children…
  • Blue hands. The moderator will go over this with the kids at the beginning of each class the first week.

If your child has had the opportunity to be called on, that will probably be the only time. We try to give as many kids as possible a chance so we do not choose students who have been called on before.

Please check mic settings before logging in. Being called on and not being able to be hear is sad for everyone.

Congratulations!

Please email Abby at support@arree.com with your child's first and last name and your mailing address.

She will print a shipping label for Arree, which will begin the shipping process. You will be notified by the USPS that your order has begun. THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT HAS BEEN SHIPPED.  If you would like to keep track of your book's progress, sign up for notices through the USPS using the link they will send you.

If you have not received an update or book after several weeks, please contact us via support@arree.com.

The summer camp is 5 weeks long, 5 days a week starting on June 29th.

The sessions are each about 1 hour long. Those who have registered will be able to join us for their selected class and time.

The classes are LIVE at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 1:00 pm pacific standard time.

You will have access to the recordings by 3:00 pm pst.

Our classes reached capacity quickly but we were able to add a 3rd class time each day (11:00 am Pacific Standard Time). We have opened enrollment for those customers who joined first.

While we wait for their enrollment to finish we have opened a wait list. To reserve your spot, click on the wait list link, sign-up, and submit your fully refundable $20.  If you don't you are not within our extra capacity, we will refund you the $20.

If you have multiple children who would like to join the same class, you only need to pay for 1 seat.

If you have other children, or you wish to participate in both beginner and advanced classes, you will need to buy a 2nd seat at the discounted price of $30.

To register, click on the JOIN button in the upper right hand corner of this page.

When you register, you will have the option to choose 1 or 2 seats.

  • 1 seat= 1 class link each week for 5 weeks (per household)
  • 2 seats= 2 class links each week for 5 weeks. (per household)

Seats can not be shared outside your home.

Enrollment has started for the first half of our customers. The remainder are on a wait list.

When your enrollment period begins, you will get a form that will allow you to select a class to take each week (or 2 classes for 2 seat buyers) for the 5 weeks of camp.

You can mix and match your classes across different levels and times each week, but only 1 (or 2 for 2 seats) each week.

Once you have selected your classes you will receive a link that will allow you to register through Zoom for your class.

**Classes that have reached capacity will be removed from the enrollment form.

Beginning 6/28/2020, the classes will be LIVE at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 1:00 pm pacific standard time.

You will have access to the recordings by 3:00 pm pst.

Unfortunately we are selling the summer camp as a 5-week block. You have to purchase it as a block.

The grade levels are just there for reference but it is really up to you. It depends on the course content and what the child is interested in. You will know your child better than us. The beginner sessions require less fine motor and comprehension skills, while the advanced classes may be more detailed and use terminology that is more advanced.

You bet! You can purchase using your own address and when you are ready to give it, you can just log into teachable and change the address to the email of the person you are giving it to.

The classes are recorded and are usually available on your Teachable dashboard by 3:00 pm PST. You have life-long access to the records, which are also downloadable.

If you want your kids to participate in the LIVE beginner and advanced sessions, you'll need to purchase the two-seat ticket.

For meetings, no password is needed.

Yes, there will be replays and handouts uploaded on your Teachable account on the SAME day. You can easily access it by logging in to Arree.com with the email you purchased with.

Yes! All summer camp registrants will have access to all the replays and lesson slides for both the Beginner and Advanced Sessions.

Yes. You may request a refund within 72 hours of purchase date and/or class starting date, whichever is later.

Yes, each class size is limited. To accommodate everyone we are offering a 9 AM PST time and a 1:00 PM PST time. Some classes and times will be popular. For example, the collage and painting classes are very popular and will fill up quickly. To get the class and time slot you want, register now rather than waiting. We'll send out the form where you'll pick what class you want on Friday afternoon. Families who enrolled first will get to register first. So it's good to register early. (Plus you'll save $20 with the early bird price.)

In the paid camp, all participants will be in the same zoom room with the instructor. This gives them an opportunity to raise their hand and they have a chance to be called on. However, due to the size of our classes, we cannot guarantee that they will be. In fact, the chances are, they will not be. So, we want to set the proper expectations.

Why do we do it this way?

We want to make high-quality art lessons available to all. At $147 for five weeks of instruction, five days a week, I think you'll agree it is extremely affordable. A smaller class size would cost hundreds of dollars and would not be accessible to all kids.

A seat is one set of zoom registration links per household.

With one seat, you get to pick one class per week for 5 weeks. For example, you may select beginning drawing at 9:00 am PST. If you select a beginning drawing, you will not be able to register for Advanced drawing.

With two seats, you get two registration links per week. So, you can register for the advanced and the beginning drawing in our example.

If your kids attend the same class, then you only need one seat per household. If your kids want to attend different classes per week, you'll need the two-seat option per household.

Access to the camp is sold per household. Sharing accounts outside of your household is prohibited.

Yes! As part of your summer camp bundle, we're happy to give you access to the replays in your creativity camp dashboard. Replays are available the same day and you will have forever access!

We have done our best to provide classes at a rate that is affordable for most families. We understand that during these times, it is still not in their price range. This is one of the reasons we offer a free week every month.

We are not able to reduce prices or offer other financial assistance.

The summer creativity camp is only available as a bundle of classes. You'll get the replays for all 10 camps for just $147. The individual camps can not be purchased separately.

The classes are at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm PST and all of the classes are recorded. You can always watch the replay if you can't attend the class live. They are always available the same day.

Yes, you can mix and match up to 5 classes, 1 per week. For example, you can take Advanced Drawing (grades 3-8) in week 1 and Pick and Stick Collage (K-2) in week 2. But you can not take Pick and Stick Collage and Collage Illustration in week 2. You would need 2 seats to do that.

The camp is held over 5 weeks, and is 5 days per week. There are 10 subjects to choose from. The entire program is just $147 ($127 with the early bird discount).

There’s a 3 day refund policy from the start of the camp or from the purchase date, which ever is later.

Click here to take advantage of the sales price before it ends.

If you buy two seats, you will receive two sets of zoom links for each week but you will only get one login for replay access at arree.com.

When you buy a “seat” to the course, you're actually paying for links to the classes you want to register for. If you have kids with different class interests, we suggest buying 2 “seats” to give you access to all the courses, but, no matter how many more kids you have, you won't need to purchase any other seats.

We try to limit classes to an hour.

Yes, both beginner and advanced classes will have 1 presentation that runs twice a day at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM PST.

Nope. You do need to register though and watch for your email from Zoom with your link in it. (Check your spam folder if you haven't seen it)

Yes, you can find the replays in our Facebook group or on YouTube.

The zoom link is for every class during the free week; both the 9:00 am beginner and 1:00 pm advanced sessions.

We know, with so much remote learning happening these days, many kids are familiar with Zoom meetings. We prefer and use them during our paid courses. Webinars are a different, temporary, format.

To give as many children as possible an opportunity to learn from our award-winning instructors for free, we use the webinar format, which is able the handle the larger class size. Most of our students are attendees.

Attendees are only able to watch the lesson. Be assured that this is only for the free week.  We appreciate your understanding and hope you'll take the opportunity to try the classes out and get a feel for what you'd like during the summer camp where all the children are able to engage together.you like, should you choose to join the summer camp.

We are sending the form for zoom registrations on Friday afternoon after the 1:00 PM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME session. We want you to attend the free live sessions so that you can make an informed decision on which camps bests suit your child.

For every email you share, you get 5 points. For every email that register, you get another 5 points. Make sure you share through your special UpViral link.

With 45 points, you will unlock Camp #1 recordings.

With 90 points, you will unlock Camp #2 recordings.

Please check these common login issues:

  • Verify you are logging in at the scheduled meeting times (9:00 AM and 1:00 PM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME). You can use this https://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/ to check.
